Fullerton Records & Album Designs
Coding, Logo, Product

The objective with my approach was to find a method to incorporate sound into my design. Having familiarized myself with Processing 4, I knew there were a handful of ways to utilize an MP4 file in the code, but finding a design direction that could translate the sound to the code was the next priority.  I decided to create a code that would combine aspects of a spectrogram with a waveform. This design style allowed me to create a design that could be utilized and manipulated freely depending on the song of choice. Because of my deep dives into spectrograms and waveforms, it inspired me to create an album design that was heavily synth-influenced. The song I chose for the code is Resonance by HOME; it gave the waves produced by the code a hypnotic pattern and felt very fitting for the aesthetic I aimed to achieve.

This is the animation generated by the code after 'Resonance' by HOME is inserted; the audio may be loud.

Fullerton Records Logo

Fullerton Records is a pseudo music store that is slated to be a future exhibition at CSUF, headed by Professor Juan Escalante. This logo was created to establish the exhibition's identity. We discussed the direction and the space that the exhibit would inhabit and settled on a logo that connects with the motif of a turntable. The logo's other purpose was to be included on all album, CD, and cassette designs made by Escalante's classes for the spring semester of 2025. The intention behind its design is to be modern and dignified in a way that wouldn't draw attention away from the student's designs, and keep it minimalistic so it wouldn't look out of place on a variety of designs. â€‹
